I came to Bikram Yoga after twenty-six years of running, step aerobics, biking, weight training, and competing in triathlons. My hips and knees were telling me it was time to make a change in my exercise routine. Bikram says you come to yoga with strength, balance or flexibility. I came with strength and balance and hardly flexibility. I was tight in the shoulders, deltoids, and hips; my work was cut out for me.
With encouragement from my good friend Lisa I took my first class about three and a half years ago and it was the hardest class I’d ever taken. I continued to come because I was curious about the mental and medical benefits of the yoga. Over time, my flexibility improved and my daily rearing of two teenage boys was much more relaxed!
After practicing a year of Bikram Yoga, I decided to go for teacher training in Los Angeles. Training was the most challenging and rewarding experience of my life aside from raising my children and keeping a strong marriage.
I can’t imagine partaking in an activity that provides so many rewards for both my students and myself. It is so inspiring to see people work hard and struggle to improve their bodies and their quality of life. Bikram Yoga has found a special place in my heart and it will continue to enrich my life for many years to come.

Special thanks to:
My family and Chief for supporting and giving me the opportunity to teach Bikram yoga.
